The Ask
Darla and Gail met in 1978 and built a life grounded in connection, hard work, and care for the land. Along the way a rescued goose became a small but meaningful part of their story. In 2005, they transformed their family farm into a worker-owned cooperative, growing it into a thriving, community-driven place rooted in shared purpose.
We were tasked with developing a visual system that would represent Hucklebee’s meaningful mission as well as their playful culture.
What We Did
We needed to differentiate Hucklebee from the organic, artisan, granola trope that many farms assume. As education is one of Hucklebee’s core values, we leaned into the bright, educational cartoon motif that can speak to audiences across generations.
The new brand aims to excite and invigorate local communities to support regenerative agriculture.

Illustrations
Brought to life by Isabella Doughty, we approached our illustrations in a way that would be cross generational. Inspired by media from all generations like School House Rock, Magic Schools Bus, and Dr. Seuss, we created a bank of imagery to position Hucklebee as a hub for curiosity and play.

Type System

Website
Hucklebee is a farm that encourages community, learning, and care for the earth, all of which are experiences. The website acts only as a touchpoint to connect users to engage with the farm’s experiences. The web elements are straightforward, but still portray some of the delight that Hucklebee has to offer.
